Let's see... what would you like to know? Will just cut three molars in the course of two days. He was very, very grumpy while they were coming in. I sent Kenneth a text message when I noticed that the first one had cut through.

Me: We have a molar!
Kenneth: Great. What do we need to do?
Me: A molar is a tooth. You don't need to do anything.

About a second later, my phone rings. It was Kenneth. He asked me what those animals are called that dig holes and run underground. I said a MOLE! We had a good laugh over that.

Will said his first two word sentence today: It's hot. And he's right. It is hot. Formerly Walk America, the March for Babies champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that will help babies get a healthy start.

I will be walking in memory of my daughter, Delilah Kaye, and in honor of her twin brother, William Charles. Lila was diagnosed with an encephalocele and alobar holoprosencephaly when I was 11 weeks pregnant. We were told at that time that she would likely be stillborn or only live a short time after birth. Will and Lila were born at 31 weeks on September 27, 2007 at 2:19am. Will weighed 3lbs 6 ounces and Lila was 1lb 12oz. Lilla lived for 1 hour and 37 minutes and knew only love during her short stay with us here on earth. Fortunately, Will only needed 22 days in the NICU before being able to come home. Today he is a happy and healthy 18 month old thanks to the work done by the March of Dimes.

Please help me and my family support the March of Dimes. Unfortunately, I have been touched by all three of these.

Last year, The March of Dimes changed the name of its biggest event to March for Babies. It's a great change because it makes very clear exactly who I am walking for -- all babies. I am very excited to be part of the second March for Babies; please support my participation.

The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money raised for March for Babies will support life-saving research, services, education, and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.

I will be walking in memory of my daughter, Delilah Kaye, and in honor of her twin brother, William Charles. Lila and Will were born at 31 weeks on September 27, 2007. Lila was diagnosed with an encephalocele and holoprosencephaly when I was 11 weeks pregnant. Lila lived for 1 hour and 37 minutes and only knew love during her short stay with us. It has been many, many years since I have written a book report/review, and I have never written on holding a sleeping baby and typing with one hand. This is a first!

I'll admit that I wasn't too sure about reading Twilight. Vampires? Really? I have never read a book about vampires before. But I buckled down and started reading. I actually liked it! Granted, the vampires in this book are nothing like the ones that I've heard about before, but I'm not sure that the love story part of the book could have been as believable if they had been. I didn't particularly enjoy the ending as it left things hanging a bit too much for my tastes. But there are more books in the series. I guess I'm committed to reading them all now.

15 Months

Will had is 15 month well baby visit yesterday. Dr. H was pleased with his development, but was a little concerned about his size. At 15 months he weighs 17.8lbs and is 26.5 inches tall. His height is below the 3rd percentile for a 9.5 month old and is the average length for a 6 month old. So he wants him to be seen by an endocrinologist. Dr. H doesn't feel that his height can be attributed to his prematurity any more. He does know that genetics is working against Will but feels that it can't hurt to get him checked out just to be sure. Will's appointment with the endocrinologist is on March 11.

If you are interested, there is a pretty neat chart on the CDC's website.

TBR Challenge

I stumbled upon the TBR (to be read) Challenge and decided to give it a try. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Write 7 random things about yourself.
3. Ours has gone out twice in the past week. It's working now. Hopefully it will stay that way.
2. I am about to have to leave for work (probably before I get this posted) and am going to freeze. Who thought that soccer made a good winter sport anyway? Again, I'm thankful for a working furnace.
3. I also have a spreadsheet documenting when I got them, where I got them, who gave them to me, etc. This also may make me a nerd.
6. Despite my last two facts, I really don't think I'm a nerd.
7. I have finished shopping for Christmas, but I still need to wrap the presents. I have yet to figure out how to do this with a 14 month old trying to "help."

Tag! I noticed that he had a few bumps on his leg the day before Thanksgiving, but didn't think too much about them. Thanksgiving morning he woke up with a fever and bumps all over. The bumps continued to spread and get larger throughout the day. By Friday morning, he looked like this:

I took him to the doctor later Friday morning and he said that Will had erythema multiforme minor. Basically, this means that Will had a virus that caused the fever (and a runny nose) and that his body reacted to the virus by getting this rash. Fortunately, the fever and runny nose should be gone within a few days. Unfortunately, the rash may hang around for a few weeks.

One Year Pictures

We had Will's 1 year pictures made at the beginning of October. Stacey made them and she did a great job. I am so happy with how they turned out. I found her from Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep which is a great organization that takes pictures for families who have lost a child to stillbirth or infant death. There is no charge for this service and the families are able to have professional photographs of their child to remember him or her by. We were blessed to find out about NILMDTS before Lila died and had some wonderful pictures made by one of their photographers. We decided to have Will's one year pictures made by a photographer that volunteers for NILMDTS in order to show our appreciation.

Here are a few of my favorites.

If you are looking for a photographer in the Memphis area, I can't recommend Stacey enough. I'm back up and running now so I thought I'd post it anyway. No pictures since my old hard drive took them with it to it's grave. Don't worry, though. I have them all on the memory sticks from the camera, I just haven't re-uploaded them to the computer yet.

Will is 13 months and 8 days old today. I thought this was a fitting day for a post about what he has been up to.

He is crawling very fast and if you set him down for just a second, he will be gone before you know it.

He can walk if he is holding on to something (a truck, a play table, a small basketball goal, a couch, etc.).

He loves playing with balls and likes turning off the light before bed.

He still enjoys bath time.

He likes to brush his tooth. Yes, he still has only one tooth.

He can say dada, mama, and bye bye. I think he is saying "fan" when he points to the ceiling fan, but it sounds more like "daa."

He likes to wave and clap.

He points at everything and likes to hear you name what he is pointing to.

He loves to play with Daddy's cell phone, but is not allowed to play with it very often because Daddy is worried about it getting water damage from all the drool.

He really enjoys eating and the only thing that I have found that he doesn't like is oatmeal.

He is fond of rearranging the kitchen chairs and looks so proud of himself when you catch him in the act.

His eyes light up when Daddy gets home from work.

He is still not a fan of diaper changes or sleeping.

It's hard to believe that it's been over a year since he came home from the hospital. Sorry it took me so long, but Will has finally decided to get some teeth! As a result, he has decided that he doesn't want to sleep. Oh yeah, he'd rather play than sleep too. Makes for one tired mama! Yesterday he napped for all of 30 minutes...

Anyway, here are some pictures from his birthday.

Eating yogurt for breakfast. I got 2 cans of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup, 2 cans of Campbell's Tomato Soup, 3 boxes of fruit snacks, 2 packages of Pillsbury cookie dough, 1 package of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, 1 package of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, 1 package of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, 2 packages of Toaster Strudel, and a package of Chex Mix. I got all this for $18.78. That's a savings of 48% off regular price! I was so excited. I think I'll make some shipwreck (a supper-yummy casserole that I haven't made in forever) with the tomato soup, use the fruit snacks for goody bags for Will's birthday and eat the rest.

Some After Bath Fun!

Will was in a great mood after his bath last night. Today I took the plunge and "played" Walgreen's. Here is what I came home with: one can of pledge with a bonus dust brush, one can of Scrubbing Bubbles Foamer, two cans of Oust, one can of regular Scrubbing Bubbles, and one Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber. Regular price this would normally have been $19.84 plus tax. I paid $11.19 including tax, plus I received a $5 coupon to use on my next trip to Walgreens. So, total amount out of pocket was $6.19! Not a bad day, if I do say so myself.

If you are curious and want to "play" with me, you can go to http://mommysnacks.blogspot.com/ and find lots of tips and tricks. Hopefully, I'll be able to post more deals in the future.

My Poor Baby!

Will is sick. He started running fever early Saturday morning. I took him to the doctor later that morning and his ears and everything looked fine. It's just a virus. She ran a CBC and he's pretty anemic, so we are going back to the doctor Monday morning to get that rechecked. His temperature went down close to normal today, but I could tell that he still felt lousy. Unfortunately, it's starting to creep back up. After my last post, I decided that Will was finally ready for a nap. Typically, he just naps for 30-45 minutes so I went in to check on him after that time since I hadn't heard him on the monitor. He was sitting up happily on the bed playing with a tub of my lotion. I'm so proud of him.

In other news, I'm not too sure that I like his new trick of being able to go from laying down to sitting up all by himself. I think that Lindsey took about 20 pictures of Will before she caught one of him standing without holding on to anything. Kenneth says that he stood for 7 seconds, but he counts onetwothreefourfivesixseven, not one one-thousand, two one-thousand, three one-thousand, four one-thousand, five one-thousand, six one-thousand, seven one-thousand. Anyway, he stood unassisted for a few seconds. I'm so proud!

Some Recent Pictures

I don't remember what he was eating, but if you look carefully, you can see it in his nose!

This was taken Sunday afternoon. I've been meaning to get this started. First I was going to start it when he was six months old. Then nine months. Now he's over 10 months.
